Article by Mel Maloy

Although comedian

hard, bombastic, and toilet-mouth tends to get most of the publicity, it should be mentioned that the clean comedian also found prominent in the entertainment world. Their core audience has typically been on business trips and conventions. However, in today’s world we can see non-vulgar talent is becoming more common in the “mainstream” locations such as television and nightclubs. And clearly they continue to do well in small, traditional niches for a class reunion for example, church groups, etc.

In fact, this tendency toward the mainstream has been somewhat forced by monetary problems rampant in the corporate world. Many flights of clean comedy acts have felt the pinch of corporate savings in expenditures for non-essential employee benefits. Hiring a comedian, for example, to inspire discussion at the meeting appeared to be categorized as non-essential by business professionals. It is encouraging to observe the comics to find new outlets for their talents

Here are two prime examples of successful clean comedians:.

Clean Comedian Example # 1: Brian Regan

Brian Regan is probably the first name on anyone’s list of clean comedian. He has created an act that actually kills the audience, from kids to grandparents for evangelical Christians, with nary an expletive

! It was not always like that with Regan, however. When he started in 1981 it will add spice to joke with intermittent dropping F-bombs, but finally he removed them from the action, “I started thinking, ‘If you’re so close to the finish line, why not. Just put the ball over the line?’ “he said. “It’s ridiculous to 95 percent of your net may also be 100 percent clean and see what happens ..” Although comedy can best be called a silly? “But hilariousâ??” Humor observations (“holding a circus funhouse mirror” to society is how he describes it), he did not deliberately avoid stepping on toes. “I do not want my comedy to be completely without point of view,” he said. “I will give them the gift of knowing I will not throw any curse words in there and that I’m not going to hit on every ***ual topics. But other than that, I need to retain the right to be able to say something on stage. I need to be against the risk of bumping a topic here or there that might have someone go, ‘Wow, I do not agree with it. “It’s okay I do not want it to be healthy to have any substance”

Example # Clean Comedians 2: .. Ryan Hamilton

Ryan Hamilton is a clean comedian who grew up in Idaho. He is now located, and primarily works in New York City, where he has created quite a name for himself. His expertise is clean humor, with a sense of little Mormon. This exciting play has made him one of the best clean comedian in the industry. In fact he was not too long ago as one of Rolling Stone magazine’s “Five Comics Watch ‘and appeared in the esteemed Montreal Just For Laughs festival. Not bad for a man who never resort to vulgarity to get laughs

.

Hamilton said he tried to be authentic and honest with himself when he came with his mix of observational comedy of energy. “For me, it does not feel like I am changing myself as a person, or make concessions â |?.? I talk about whatever I think is funny, “he said.” I do not think of a joke (vulgar) and go “Oh, I can not do that. ‘Â |?? It does not appear when I’m writing “.

Hamilton went on to say that the emphasis on clean comedy is not as much a moral decision as it’s a problem of authenticity. He said he did not just want to be clean, though. He wanted to do comedy that makes people joyrful felt more than when they arrived, in contrast to mood, negative weight that survives long after a gloomy or cynical comedian off the stage

.

“You can go to the show and laughed a lot and come out feeling heavy because although What comic reference might be super funny, still could have a severe tone, “he said.” You can cry and laugh out of feelings show, ‘Well, I kinda feel sorry for that person’s life. His life was really tough, and children, you will find a lot of trouble in the world. “Â |?. And though there are places that are important to it in the comedy, I just sort of made the decision that I want people to laugh a lot and come out feeling good “

To sum it up? , He said “I want to be a good comedian who happens to be Mormon than ‘The Comedians of Mormon.’ Amen to that

Conclusions

:.

With so many comics evil rampant on cable, I think we can all be thankful for comics like Ragen and Hamilton It’s good to know that humor should not be surprising, and that it is not necessary to be offensive in order to be funny.

When I want a comedy, I watch old films from the 30s, and 40s. And even a few silent comedies. I think the reason for all the vulgarity in film-comedies now is simple- lazy writers. As recently as the 1970s you could still find a good, sophisticated comedy out there, like Silver Streak or Foul Play.

A bit of low humor, but nothing really bad. Nothing a teenager shouldn’t see.

But, if you want a really good family laugh, I’d go for The Three Stooges, Abbott & Costello, or the Marx Brothers.

Check out “Oscar” if you can stand the idea of Sylvester Stallone in a comedy. I found it extremely funny, since the humour is all clever.

Also, I havent seen it, but I have heard that the recent movie “Last Holiday” with Queen Latifah was very funny and clean.
